Veterans into Logistics

Thousands of military veterans struggle with the transition to civilian life. Many turn to drink and/or drugs. Others get involved with crime. And far too many end up homeless.
All of the above happened to former Royal Artillery Airborne Gunner, Darren Wright.
So he decided to create this organisation in memory of his army colleague Jamie Doyle, who tragically died less than a year after leaving the military.
Veterans into logistics is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping struggling military veterans transition into meaningful careers in logistics and construction. They fund HGV training, then help the newly trained veterans find work.
Not only does this put a roof over their heads and provide for their families, it helps with their mental health by giving a sense of purpose.
If you’re a military veteran, go ahead and get in touch with the charity.

The Restore Trust

After countless rejections and judgements, people with criminal records often feel like they have no hope of finding meaningful jobs.
The Restore Trust doesn’t judge. They train people with complex needs and liaise with businesses to help with employment.
Part of their remit is with the hospitality sector, but the main sector dealt with is construction, where they train to towards CSCS cards and more.
So, if you have learning disabilities, physical disabilities or have been through the criminal justice system, get in touch with them to get your start.

Construction workers are amongst the highest risk of suicide in the country. Each year, the rate is up to three times higher than the national industry average.
Bearing in mind the vast majority of construction workers are male, the Office of National Statistics state that out of the 507 people who took their own lives in 2021, 503 were male.

If You're in Crisis
You're not alone, and there are people trained to help. These feelings can pass, and tomorrow can be different.
According to The Money Charity, the average total debt per UK household in November 2023 was £57,910. Sometimes, the problem is that pride gets in the way, stopping people from doing something about it. Or people are too scared, so bury their heads in the sand until things escalate out of their control.
Don’t let things spiral out of control. Get help. Get advice. Get it out in the open.
